Halfway there

(Apologies - once again - for the very poor quality picture)

Numbers and names embroidered - tick.
Beds made - tick
Beds carefully colour matched - tick.

Still to do: glue faces and hair on, embroider eyes and mouth, finish it all off, add my signature on.
Then put all the childrens drawings and letters inside the pockets. Here's M's..

Boys, boys, boys

 And here come the boys..

The rest is a piece of cake!

Here come the girls

I haven't reached my target of embroidering all the names but I've done all the girls and a few of the boys. I'm cursing the parents who chose to give their children names with more than 5 letters!!

I know a couple of names are quite difficult to read due to the wrong choice of thread colour for the background, but it's one of those things whereby it looks fine when you start and you don't really realise til it's too late that it's not right.. I couldn't undo the embroidery, the only option was to cut another piece of fabric and start again but I'm past that stage now, I just want to get on with it!!

By the way, all I'm working on at the moment is this Advent calendar, so apologies in advance if it gets boring, but that's all I'll be showing you til it's finished!!
And then I'll be showing you 2 more..

Here we go again

I'm starting my most ambitious project so far.. An Advent calendar, yayyy! Nothing new there - except that this one will have 30 pockets, with each face representing one of M's classmates, and I have 4 weeks to make it in..
I wanted to make something extra special for M's teacher as an end of year/thank you present, as she was such a great teacher - and also she's getting married!
I've asked the mums to get their child to draw a picture/write a letter to put in their respective pockets.

My target for this week-end: embroidering the 30 names and numbers - the most time-consuming task in the whole process..

Holiday

We've been away on holiday and a bit busy..

So I haven't made anything except this..

Proper napkins don't exist in this country, we've never really had them at home and so M is forever wiping his mouth on his sleeve or on his hand and so I'm forever washing his clothes! I don't know why I didn't do this before but hopefully M will soon get rid of this bad habit.
He got the dino napkin covered in chocolate in one single meal so I need to make a lot more!
